                            Welcome Back

Another new and exciting year has started!  There has been a lot of talk lately about bullying and what is bullying.

Three types of Bulling

Physical Bullying
            hitting, kicking or pushing
stealing, hiding or ruining someone's things
making someone do something he or she doesn't want to do

Verbal Bullying
            name calling
      teasing
insulting

Relationship Bullying
            refusing to talk to someone
spreading lies and rumours about someone
making someone feel left out or rejected.

Bullying is no longer something that just happens when you go to school.  You can now get bullied while you are sitting in your own home.  CYBERBULLYING

Here on this blog is the place Eastwood students to tell someone.  Tell someone what is happening.  EVERY  post is sent to a private email.  NOTHING is posted with out your consent.

GREAT JOB STAND UP CLUB

Earlier this year the Stand up Club received grant money from a proposal they had written.  With the money they received they were able to have a guest presenter come to the school. "We wanted someone that would motivate the students" from Alex
On Tuesday April 17, 2010 Music Movement and Motivation presentation came to Eastwood.  We would like to thank Saidat and KZ for their outstanding performance.    "ONE person can make a difference.   TOGETHER we can change the world."  What a great motto.  One other powerful message that was given to stop bullying was using three words  Stop Think Speak.  If you see bullying or are being bullied say Stop,   before reacting   Think and Speak up against it.

Grade 4/5 Chartier Words of Kindness

Our school spirit theme for February was Caring and Kindness.  Mrs. Chartier grade 4/5 has been working on Caring songs and poems.  Here is a just a few

Kindness  (Mandy)

You can change the world!  Just by saying hi.
If you see rain you can make it sunny.
If you do a simple change, be kind everyday.
To make a hard rock, soft as cotton balls.
You can see into the future, if you can be kind everyday.
The dark can turn to light, the night can turn to day.
If you can be kind.
It's not very hard to have kindness everyday.

Inside out (Jaclynn)

What you see on the outside is not the real me.
You have to look deep down.
When you find it you will see, that.
I am beautiful the beautiful me.
Look deep down and find it, do you believe.
I am beautiful as you can see, you are beatuful just not the same as me.
Just look deep inside and you will see.
That I am beautiful, the beautiful me.
I hope you believe in the beautiful me
You are unique and beautiful to me.

Beautiful  (Claire)
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful me,
a lot of people think I 'm as pretty as the sparkling sea.
It's not what is on the outside, but what's on the inside tht is why I think of beautiful me
Beautiful, beautiful beautful me
It doesn't matter what others say.
